Thousands of apps launch every day — and almost nobody finds them

1 min read

App stores receive a staggering volume of new releases. For an indie dev, the challenge isn't just building: it's getting noticed.

According to data compiled by Statista, Google Play and the App Store together offer millions of available apps, with thousands of new titles published every day. The practical effect is brutal: the overwhelming majority of apps get very few downloads and almost no organic feedback.

For a solo launcher, that means competing for attention in a saturated environment. Without an initial base of real users testing and commenting, it's hard to figure out what to fix before spending on acquisition — and three out of four users abandon an app in the first few days when the first experience disappoints.

That's why early feedback from other developers who understand the context is worth its weight in gold: it shortens the cycle between launching and learning, before your app disappears into the crowd.
